5th Grade Band
The 5th grade band has 52 students. They attended the
following event:
-
Floydada Band Festival on April 28, 2000.
At this festival the band did not have a concert but they
did have students enter in the solo & ensemble contests.

6th Grade Band
The 6th grade band has 41 students. They attended the
following event:
-
Floydada Band Festival on April 28, 2000.
At this festival they recieved a 1st division in concert
band, & a 1st division in sight reading. These 1st division ratings
allowed them to recieve a sweepstakes trophy. This trophy can be seen in
the Middle School office.

7th Grade Band
The 7th grade band has 40 students. They attended the
following events:

Wayland Baptist University Side by Side Clinic
-
Floydada Band Festival on April 28, 2000.
At the Floydada Band Festival they received a 1st division
in Concert Band, and a 1st division in Sight Reading allowing the band
to recieve a Sweepstakes Trophy.

Concert Band
The Concert Band contains of grades 8th-12th.
These are the events that Concert Band will and has done
this year:

U.I.L contest

Almost spring break concert

End of the year concert

Side By Side Clinic at Texas Tech
This was the first one in concert band since 1994!
This was first one in sightreading band since 1989!
Only second time in school history, last one in 1983!!
Songs that were played at U.I.L. Contest was:

(1) Pride of the Lions

(2) Model Song and Dance
-
(3) Kenya Contrast.
The concert band will be holding a concert May 21st.
The concert band will be playing 4 songs:

(1) Themes from Star Wars Episode 1 Phantom Mentace
-
(2) Themes from 1812 Overture
-
(3) Slide Show
-
(4) Pride of the Lions.

Jazz Band
Concert- May 21, 2000 in the New Deal High School Gym.
They will play four songs

(1) Carnival Del Soul

(2) Done Deal
-
(3) Bittersweat Romance
-
(4) 25 or 6 to 4
This is the only concert they will have this year.

The events the the Marching Band has done this year

Texas Tech marching festival (2)
UIL marching festival (2)
The High School Loin Band consits of 8th-12th grade.
There were 60 people in band during marching season.
The songs that we played were:
