New Deal's cheerleaders consist of 7th and 8th graders.  We have three squads.  The Green, Gold, and White.  There are around twelve or thirteen girls on each squad.  Each squad has one head and one assistant. There are also some requirements to be a cheerleader.  You must pass all classes, tryout, and always attend every practice. Everyone makes the squad.  No one gets left standing on the sideline.  Of course cheerleaders cheer but they also set up peperallys and make posters for the football players.  Cheerleaders are a very important part of the New Deal Junior High games. They keep the players and the fans fired up.

Getting On Camera!!!

Channel 28 news in Lubbock has decided to do a story on the Middle School Cheerleaders because of their unique ways of joining the squad. As is described in the introduction to this page, everyone can be a cheerleader at New Deal Middle School if they meet the criteria. Carla Leslie found out about New Deal and wanted everyone to know about how great we are! Here are some pictures taken while being filmed and interviewed. (please wait for pictures to load)
